Primary Focus:
My research investigates the intersection of political economy, international organizations, and welfare state transformation, with a particular emphasis on health care systems in transitioning economies.

Specific Research Areas:

  • Transformation of health care systems in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) following the collapse of communism, focusing on institutional change and policy outputs.
  • The influence of international financial institutions, such as the World Bank and the IMF, on health care reforms in low- and middle-income countries, including transitional economies in CEE.
  • The political economy of health care financing reforms in Central and Eastern Europe, exploring the interplay between domestic politics, fiscal constraints, and external actors.
